The aim of the THROB organisation is to promote cardiac rehabilitation in the Berkshire area
covered by Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot and the Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
THROB raises funds for rehabilitation
equipment and services to benefit victims of Coronary Heart Disease now and in the future. Since its inception in 1991,
THROB has raised approximately £50.000 for equipment and services for Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals.
THROB organises social
activities for members, their families and their friends to enjoy and improve their lifestyles - and often to raise money in
the process !
There is an ever-increasing number of exercise classes that THROB supports and for which THROB provides
equipment. Over £20,000 has been raised over the last ten years for exercise classes and equipment.
Details of all the current classes can be found on our "Keeping Fit" page
Each quarter THROB produces a magazine with
articles from within the group and news of new medications, diets and observations on publications of special interest to
cardiac patients.
THROB welcomes new members. To contact the Membership Secretary or any other Committee member
please see our "Contact Us" page.
THROB is here to help but we cannot give you medical advice - but we know a man who
can !! If you would like to know more go straight to our "Contact Us" page to 'phone or email us.
